Participation in ESports will add a $35 student fee. This fee pays for ESports equipment, senior gifts, tournament participation, and school video game subscriptions so everyone compete from the building. If you have questions, please reach out to Mr. Villanueva @ michael.villanueva@jeffco.k12.co.us .
More information on PlayVS can be found below.
You and your team should report to N134 by 3:45 each game day. If you cannot do so, contact your captain and let your corresponding Mr. V know you are going to be late.
If you regularly show up late or postpone matches due to your tardiness, you may become ineligible to receive a varsity letter, even if your other teammates receive one.

Have your chromebook out, and at least one player on each team must be logged into their PlayVS account to follow and the match.
Ideally this is your captain, but that is dependent on the game
You must respect all players
You may not send toxic messages through any platform to other players. We represent AWest and we have no tolerance for our students disrespecting others during a competition.
You must respect all coaches
You must communicate with your coaches so they know what we need to do to best support you.
You may regularly communicate with other coaches in PlayVS Chat if there are technical difficulties. Be respectful and responsive when interacting with these adults, and ask for support from them as well if you need it.
You must respect our equipment
We are using another teacher's classroom, so make sure you return everything to their classroom how we found it; cleaner if applicable. ESports is a privilege, and I do not want a coworker of mine to regret letting us use their room because we have left a mess or broken equipment.
All games are hosted through a platform called PlayVS. Unlike traditional sports, we only know what schools we will compete against the week-of a match. Matchups are based on updated team standings each week, so hopefully schools will compete against similarly skilled schools each week.
We will train on how to use PlayVS during preseason!
