Jeffco Honor Choir
(High School)

Jeffco All County Honor Choir is a select choir comprised of students from high schools all around the Jefferson County school district. Students selected will get the opportunity to work on advanced choral literature with a guest clinician. Any choir student in grades 9-12 will be allowed to audition (Madrigals will be expected to audition, schedule-permitting). Students planning to audition will need to set aside time to prepare the audition components (see below).

The Audition Process:
Students will record their auditions with the help of Mrs. Fleming, and the audition will include:
(1) Singing a major scale based on voice type
(2) Sight reading melodic and rhythmic passages
(3) Singing a brief, standardized, prepared solo
(4) Aural recall (pitch matching)

Students are selected for the honor choir based on a successful audition scored by other Jeffco choir directors. Honor Choir singers will be issued special music and will be need to learn these songs prior the the honor choir festival, with additional practice sessions as individuals, setions, and/or with Mrs. Fleming.

Anyone interested in auditioning should contact or speak to Mrs Fleming ASAP!

Be sure to look at the timeline and mandatory dates listed below before signing up to audition -
you must be prepared by audition day and be able to attend all in-person rehearsals and events.
