Adrianne Fleming has been teaching choir since 2010, having spent the first six years of her career teaching in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, and now in her eighth year leading the vocal music department at AIHS.  Prior to coming to Alameda International, Mrs. Fleming served as the choral conductor and general music teacher at F. A. Day Middle School in Newton, MA, and Whitcomb Middle School in Marlborough, MA.

Mrs. Fleming always knew she wanted to teach music, having participated in musical theater throughout childhood, and choir and band since middle school.  Realizing she had a knack for classical singing and a love of teaching, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College (NY) and a Master's degree in Music Ed from Kent State University (OH).  After graduation, she moved to New England to share her love of music with her first students and proudly built strong choir programs in both of her former schools.  Now in Colorado, Mrs. Fleming is honored to contribute to the growth and success of the Alameda Vocal Music Program.  

While working to improve the quality, exposure, and appreciation of the choir program during the school day, Mrs. Fleming also maintains an active performance schedule as a soloist and chorister in the Denver area.  She has most recently performed with the Alpine Chorale, Colorado Bach Ensemble, and Evergreen Chorale, can be heard as a soloist at various houses of worship around town, and sings opera with local companies in Denver and Boulder. She has additionally performed in such venues as Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center (NYC), Symphony Hall in Boston, and the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia.  When not teaching or singing, Mrs. Fleming enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and practicing yoga.
