Red Mountain Park
Great place for hiking and biking and history!
There is a large open dog park for your furry friend to stretch its legs.
There are also multiple agility courses, zip lines, challenge towers and team building courses.
Moss Rock Preserve
This park is a wonderful place out of the city that allows for (on your own) rock climbing. It has fairly easy trails and a nice gurgling stream with a waterfall to relax next to when you need a breather.
Also good for Fido.
Oak Mountain State Park
One of the state's largest state parks. It offers multiple sights for hiking, camping, swimming, horseback riding, canoeing, (and other water travel), a wild bird exhibit, a mountain bike competitive course and so much more!!

Five Points South
One of the oldest entertainment areas around, with stores, hotels, bars, restaurants and, entertainment venues.
Avondale
This area is up and coming with multiple restaurants like Melt, JackBrowns, SAW's Soul Kitchen, Post Office Pies, Avondale CommonHouse etc.
It is also the home to Avondale Brewery which also has an outdoor concert site.
