Why you should you join fencing

Reason that you should join fencing . My first reason is if you like Star Wars, the lightsaber fights in Star Wars are very similar to the way you do fencing. Reason number two is that it is easy to learn and fun to do. In fencing you do things called bouts where you sword fight in them. It is the first person to 5 points . Point are scored when you hit your opponent on target, which is your chest area . If you're worried about getting hurt, you wear protective equipment like in the picture below. TO SKATE OR NOT TO SKATE

Do you like skating? Rey Dobson-Greiner ( me) and Vivian Bragg started a skating club that is so far non existent. We have a maybe sponsor. And Mady Hickman is our safety manager. I’m now interviewing an anonymous person: “What do you think about having a skate club?” I ask. They answered: “Epic”.

The skate club will be a fun opportunity if it will ever exist. Learn about safety, roller derby, aggressive skating aka: skating on ramps, skatepark etiquette, origins of skating, and basics of skating. We will teach you everything! Hopefully even getting guest teachers.

Lauridsen Skatepark is where we will meet most times and at Legion skatepark and Skate Land! The first things we would work on are safety and park etiquette. Then ways of stopping and basics of flat skating. Then fakies, pumping, dropping in, next carves, toestop stalls, regular stalls, grinds. Next Mady is talking about safety: I will make sure people wear their helmets, wrist guards and knee pads and give water and safety kits. If the school club doesn’t work, we I’ll create a non school related skate group that it kid friendly. We hope you join our skating club if we will get it to work!

School Lunches Need to be Bigger

We surveyed 17 people and they all said there wasn't enough food to eat. So me and Melvin think they should put more food out for the growing middle schoolers. They need more food so they can grow more. It helps them grow taller and they would do better in school because it makes them more focused because they aren’t hungry. So that’s why me and Melvin think we need more food.

Phones

In our opinion, phones should be allowed in school. We will provide many reasons to support our opinion that many others agree upon.

Firstly, in our present society, the depths of danger are “through the roof.” Implying that phones are a necessity to our fellow Summit students to stay safe.

Secondly, people of this generation thrive off of electronic use. Teachers, students, etc. all use their personal technology on a daily basis. This implies that a “no phone policy” will only cause more disobedience towards teachers. If phones were allowed, there would be no reason to sneak them.

Lastly, minor issues such as: forgetting something at home, changing the way you dismiss, etc. These can all be solved quite easily if students were able to text their parents whenever they needed to. If a teacher can use their mobile devices during school hours, why can’t we? They use their phones for the same reasons we do.
