Congratulations for making it to senior year! Here you will find the resources to make your last year of high school stress-free.
The most important skill you will need to develop your senior year is organization! There are a lot of moving parts your senior year of high school, so you need to make sure that you stay on top of all deadlines. Here is a general outline for the deadlines and tasks you should have completed every month of your senior year.
August and September
Meet with your college advisor to review your high school transcript and make sure you're on the right track.
Testing:
Register for the SAT/SAT II: www.collegeboard.org and ACT: www.actstudent.org
See your advisor for fee waivers and free test prep info!
Take tests no later than December (some campuses have November deadlines so double check!)
CSU: Take the ACT or SAT (take both!)
UC: Take the SAT or ACT (with writing component), SAT II Subject Tests are highly recommended.
Private Schools: Take the SAT or ACT, some require SAT II subject tests (check with each individual school)
Begin college essays if you are applying to UC's (Personal Insight Questions) and private schools (Personal Statements and Supplements)
Search for scholarships, internships, jobs
Check your Google Classroom for updates about scholarships and check your email regularly for deadline reminders from your advisors
Get/stay involved in extracurricular activities
October
Begin the application process for 4-year universities (UCs, CSUs, private schools). Identify target, reach, and safety schools

Continue to work on your UC Personal Insight Questions: Ask your advisor for feedback on your drafts. Be ready to sumbit with your UC application by Nov. 30th!
Continue your scholarship search: Be sure to check for updates from your advisor via email and on Google Classroom.
See which college applications require recommendations and ask teachers/counselor/coach/etc. (CSU requires 2 for EOP and check each Private University to see how many they require)
November
APPLICATIONS DUE: NOVEMBER 30TH!!!
Apply for Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) withing the UC and CSU application (check each CSUs deadline)
Person Insight Questions: Final revision, submit with UC app
Testing:
Send official SAT/ACT scores to all of the schools you applied to via www.collegeboard.org (SAT) and www.actstudent.org (ACT)
UCs: If you send SAT or ACT score to one campus, all UC campuses will receive scores.
UCs use your best score in a single sitting
CSUs: If you send SAT or ACT score to one campus, all CSU campuses will receive scores
CSU will use your combined SAT Reading/Writing and Math scores
***SAT can send a history of all scores from all exams. ACT does not--you will need to send each exam's score individually
Private School Essays: Continue and ask your advisor for feedback. Visit college websites to find Early Action and Early Decision deadlines. Ask your advisor for details ASAP!
December
Private School Applications: Check each school's website as deadlines vary. Begin Common Application for schools that accept it. Request letters of recommendation. Applications are typically due December/January.
Keep applying to scholarships! Deadlines are usually in December/January
Make Student Portal Accounts for each college you applied to. Check it regularly as colleges will send important admission information through them
For Private School Applicants, see if your financial aid application requires CSS Profile
*If you plan to compete in Division I/II college sports, register with the NCAA: www.eligibilitycenter.org
January and February
Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or CA Dream Act application. Attend a financial aid workshop (Cash for College) and contact your advisor for assistance.

***MARCH 2ND*** FAFSA AND CA DREAM ACT APPLICATION DEADLINE
Check your admission statuses and financial aid information through college portals regularly. Follow up with any important documents such as transcripts, test scores, income verification, etc.
Review Financial Aid Award Offers
Submit Housing Application. Check if applications have priority deadlines or if they're first-come, first-serve.
May
Submit Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and enrollment deposit for UC/CSU/Privates by May 1st!
Sign up for college orientation
Take UC Analytical Writing Exam (UCs only)
Check your CSU portal to see if you have to take Early Start classes over the summer
Take AP exams for any AP classes you took
Send official transcript to the college you are attending
After Graduation
Confirm "School of Attendance" and "Graduation Date" on your Cal Grant WebGrants Account
Send AP scores to your college
