GET READY FOR FIELD DAY FUN!
Dear Families,
The countdown is on, and we are so excited to celebrate Field Day with you and your students! It’s going to be a morning full of laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. Here’s everything you need to know to be ready for the big day:
Event Time
Field Day kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with exciting activity rotations and wraps up at 11:10 a.m. (PreK will start at 8:00 a.m.)
Families are welcome to join us for the morning events, but all visitors will need to depart promptly at 11:10 due to space limitations.
Check-In Information (Important!)
All parents/guardians must check in at the Check-In Tent located in the bus lane before heading to the field.
To make things quick and easy:
Download the Raptor Safe App in advance
Bring a photo ID
Arrive early and allow time for check-in
Dress for Success
Help your child have the best day by dressing them in:
Tennis shoes
Comfortable clothing
Hat & sunscreen
Don’t forget: Your child will get wet and messy (that’s part of the fun!)
What to Bring
Extra change of clothes + a bag for wet items
Towel (for the firetruck spray + sitting on the grass)
Water bottle (refill stations will be available!)
Note: Pre-K will not attend afternoon events, and siblings cannot participate in Field Day activities.
Snacks & Treats
Skip the line and pre-purchase concessions through PTO!
Field Day Reminders for Students
We want everyone to have an amazing day! Please remind your child to:
Play safely and have fun
Show great sportsmanship
Work together and cooperate
Use good manners and thank our awesome volunteers
We can’t wait to see everyone out on the field for a day full of energy, smiles, and school spirit! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
Let the games begin!
Thank you,
Coach Aaron & Coach Hayes
Having lunch with your child? Please bring exact amount cash or a check. $5 for adult lunch. We are unable to process credit cards or give change. THANKS!
We know the end-of-year hustle is real. Between finding a parking spot and making sure you have the camera ready for that field day or award ceremony, the last thing you need is a bottleneck at the front desk.
To help you get from the front door to your child’s classroom in record time, we’re reminding everyone to utilize the Raptor Safe app. Consider it your digital key to a smoother, faster visit!
Be the "Early Bird" (Even if you're late): Use the Raptor Passport feature to pre-verify your identity from your couch. When you arrive, you’re ready to roll.
The Power of the Scan: Instead of fumbling for your ID while the fun is starting, just pull up your secure QR code for a "scan-and-go" experience.
Top-Tier Security: To keep our campus safe, your unique QR code refreshes every 5 minutes. It’s high-tech, highly secure, and highly convenient.
Download the Raptor Safe app.
Pre-verify your profile today.
Scan in seconds when you arrive for all the upcoming festivities!
Getting Started
⭐Student Success Spotlight⭐
Hello Parents!
This month we have finished our safety lessons talking about Bullying & Digital Dangers.
We have encouraged students if they see someone being mean to another student to be an upstander & tell a safe adult.
We have also encouraged students to use the golden rule: if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!
Please talk with your student at home about the importance of being kind and uplifting others!

Infinite Campus and Parent Square📱
It is VERY IMPORTANT for all families to set up an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Click HERE to set up your child's account. This account allows you to receive important school messages through the Parent Square app, see student grades and attendance. If you have trouble with this process, email Mrs. West (rebecca.west@jcss.us). After a parent portal account has been activated, please allow 24 hours for the information to sync with the Parent Square app to be able to message teachers. If you are unable to use Parent Square at any time, please send your child's teacher an email.

PBIS🛡️
Parents, as a PBIS school, we strive to create a positive learning environment for all our students and staff. We utilize a schoolwide approach to teach, model, and reinforce positive behaviors, actions, and words. Here at WJES, we use the PAWS framework: Pride, Attitude, Work, and Safety. Through classroom lessons, videos, and activities, we explain what Pride, Attitude, Work, and Safety should look and sound like throughout our school building. Our PAWS matrix is displayed around the school and in classrooms. Why PBIS? Why PAWS? They help provide clear expectations for our students, establish a common language for everyone, and foster a positive school culture.
Every day, our students are recognized for demonstrating PAWS in the hallways, classrooms, lunchroom, playground, and even on the bus! Student recognition can be verbal, visual, or tangible. Students may be recognized through verbal praise, a high five, DOJO/PBIS points or tickets, student of the month awards, Mindset student of the month awards, or even with a gold coin for the book vending machine.
Always Learning and Growing!
