Reminder: Halloween Guidelines

Just a reminder, students—Halloween costumes are not permitted at Jackson County High School.  Students should follow the dress code outlined in the Student Handbook. The following items are NOT appropriate for the school day:  face or body painting, costume masks, or costume props.  Let’s keep our focus on learning and make it a great week!

Family Input Survey Closes October 31st

In an effort to continuously grow and improve as a school system the Jackson County School System is requesting your feedback through a family input survey.  The family survey will be available until October 31. AP & IB Exam Registration

Attention Students and Families:

It is our expectation that all students enrolled in AP/IB courses will take the corresponding exams. Scoring well on these exams can often earn college credit, which means big savings on future tuition! Be sure to take advantage of this valuable opportunity.

Game Day Spirit

Panthers, it’s time to show your Game Day Spirit! Let’s go all out in camouflage for our last regular season game this Friday against Habersham High School. Pack the stands in camo and cheer our team to victory. Bring your Panther pride and let’s finish the season strong!

Congressional Art Competition

Attention students! The 2025 Congressional Art Competition is now open, and this year’s theme is “Georgia on My Mind.” We invite you to create artwork that showcases the beauty and spirit of our state.

Important Dates:

Submit your Student Information Form and a digital image of your artwork by February 17, 2025. Selected pieces will be displayed in a local exhibition!

Transcendental Art Project

Mrs. Peterson's AP Lang students have taken their exploration of transcendentalism to a creative level!  Through their Transcendental Art project, they’ve brought to life the themes of self-reliance, nature, and ephemeral championed by writers like Emerson and Thoreau. Each piece uniquely expresses the spirit of transcendentalism, showcasing student creativity and thoughtful interpretation.

Empower JROTC Raiders

Congratulations to the Empower JROTC Raiders. Team Flash placed 4th, and Team Lightning finished 3rd. We are proud of your hard work and achievements!

Congratulations to our Mountain Bike High School State Qualifiers for the Peach State Championship in Rome Georgia over the weekend!

JCHS Panther Players

The JCHS Panther Players performed their One Act Play of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee last week, bringing humor and heart to the stage. We are so proud of these talented students and their hard work!

JCHS Work-Based Learning Highlights

Galilee Christian Preschool has been an outstanding WBL partner for several years. This year, JCHS junior Macie Harrison, along with seniors Amelie Roberts and Emersyn Weldon, are actively involved in teaching and caring for the children. Their responsibilities include supervising, leading activities, preparing food, and providing additional support.

Girls Lacrosse

Come be a part of the Jaxco Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team! If you're interested in joining the team or learning more about it, please come to the grand staircase during advisement on November 6th. Mark Your Calendars! Semester 1 Final Exam Schedule

It's early, but it's time to start planning for final exams! The Semester 1 Final Exam Schedule includes course-specific End-of-Course tests and final exams, which will take place on December 17th and 18th. Please note that there will be no early release on these days.

Certificate of Enrollment

Students who will be obtaining their learner’s permit or driver’s license MUST request their Certificate of School Enrollment (COE) and Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) BEFORE you go to your appointment.
