The next step in our Strategic Planning process is conducting an online survey, which is open to students, staff, families and community members. The survey will close Friday, October 6th.

This is an exciting technology competition designed especially for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. It's a fantastic opportunity for young tech enthusiasts to showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills. There are over 14 categories, so there's something for everyone! Projects can be completed independently or with a partner; students may work on the projects at school or at home; and submissions will be judged on the basis of creativity, technical skill and the criteria listed on the rubric for each category.

So, if you're a tech-savvy 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader with a passion for all things digital, get ready to take on the challenge and show the world what you can create with technology!

What a way to celebrate literacy month!

BookBreak brings 2-3 bestselling children’s author events to our schools each month via live stream (or continued access through recorded sessions). The events are for specific grade levels (e.g., K-1st, 2nd-3rd or 4th-5th). Each grade level will have the opportunity to hear from an age-appropriate author at least once per month.

The live talks will be 10-15 minutes long. They are designed as a short “brain break” to hear from authors about their books and the writing process.

Here Comes The Bus for the Jackson County School System is now live! Here Comes The Bus allows for families and students to track the location of their school bus. The app will notify families of morning and afternoon arrival, and is a great transportation enhancement. Please note the app may take 24-48 hours to update. If after a problem with the application arises following the update window, please contact the JCSS Transportation Department via email at transportation@jcss.us. #SuccessatJCSS #AllAroundExcellence

Infinite Campus

All families should set up an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Click HERE to set up your child's account. This account allows you to receive important school messages through the Remind app, see student grades and attendance. If you have trouble with this process, email Mrs. Embry at angie.embry@jcss.us  After a parent portal account has been activated, please allow 24 hours for the information to sync with the Remind app to be able to message teachers. If you are unable to use Remind at any time, please send your child's teacher an email.

Every day is a great day at SJ!
