We're thrilled to announce that March 8th is Book Character Day as part of Read Across America! On this day, students will have the opportunity to dress up as a character from their favorite book.To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we kindly ask that costumes do not include any violent elements or scary props such as weapons. Instead, we encourage costumes that are simple, creative, and reflect the essence of the character your child chooses. Parents, we are excited to invite you to join us for our Book Character Parade, where our students will showcase their creativity and love for literature. You are welcome to watch your student during the parade at the following times:
Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade: 8:00 AM - 8:15 AM
4th and 5th Grades: 8:45 AM - 9:00 AM
2nd and 3rd Grades: 9:30 AM - 9:45 AM
Parents are kindly requested to stand along the parade route in the atrium. Please note that students will promptly return to class after the parade for more enriching learning experiences. We look forward to sharing this special event with you and celebrating the joy of reading together.

Did you know we have our own Little Free Library? Located in the back parking lot near the trail entrance, this tiny library is filled with books waiting to be discovered. Feel free to stop by to take a book or leave a children's book for others to borrow; let's keep SJ Eagles reading!
BookBreak brings 2-3 bestselling children’s author events to our schools each month via live stream (or continued access through recorded sessions). The events are for specific grade levels (e.g., K-1st, 2nd-3rd or 4th-5th). Each grade level will have the opportunity to hear from an age-appropriate author at least once per month.
The live talks will be 10-15 minutes long. They are designed as a short “brain break” to hear from authors about their books and the writing process.
Here Comes The Bus for the Jackson County School System is now live! Here Comes The Bus allows for families and students to track the location of their school bus. The app will notify families of morning and afternoon arrival, and is a great transportation enhancement. Please note the app may take 24-48 hours to update. If after a problem with the application arises following the update window, please contact the JCSS Transportation Department via email at transportation@jcss.us. #SuccessatJCSS #AllAroundExcellence
Infinite Campus
All families should set up an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Click HERE to set up your child's account. This account allows you to receive important school messages through the Remind app, see student grades and attendance. If you have trouble with this process, email Mrs. Embry at angie.embry@jcss.us After a parent portal account has been activated, please allow 24 hours for the information to sync with the Remind app to be able to message teachers. If you are unable to use Remind at any time, please send your child's teacher an email.
