East Jackson Elementary School was awarded the Grand Champion Award! This award was given to 2 out of the 24 teams in the field, at Sunday's First Lego League Super Regional Competition. The EJES Lego League team will now move on to the state competition in February for the first time in school history!
The EJES media center was awarded $2,500 from the Tanger Outlet Grant. These funds will go towards an outdoor literacy garden beside the media center. This will be used for class read alouds, small group and whole class lessons and maybe even a parent conference or two! We can't wait to see this space come to life!
This past week's total!
Grade level leaders...
School-wide total since day 1 of the ReadBowl competition.
Congrats to Olivia and Beckett for moving on to the STATE technology competition!!
Georgia State Superintendent Richard Woods presented EJES principal Allyson Pennington and assistant principal Wendy Dillow with a Mathematics Leader Banner. Math Leader Schools are recognized at the state level for understanding and demonstrating the fundamental importance of mathematics in students' educations and future careers. Schools earn the recognition after achieving above high benchmarks on end of grade testing!
Staying Connected...
Mark this date on your calendars for individual and class pictures.
EJES and the Jackson County School System's 2025-26 Pre-K Lottery Registration is open now through February 16th. Registration for the lottery does not guarantee placement into the state-funded program. For more information and to apply online, visit www.jacksonschoolsga.org/prek.

What is Nest Protectors?? EJES "dudes" are you interested in being more present EJES and providing a positive male influence on our students? We would love to have you sign up to be a Nest Protector! EJES "dudes" transform into our EJES Nest Protectors by getting to school early and helping to open car doors and greeting students as they arrive. You will arrive at 7:10 and you MUST check-in at the front office to get your visitor's badge before you head out to duty. If you have never had your ID scanned at the front office, please have that ready the first time you arrive for Nest Protector duty. After your duty, feel free to stop by your child's classroom to give them a hug. Check in at the front office, no need to sign up on the google form!
Buy your yearbook today!
It's not too late to have your family or business purchase a metal sign to support EJES through our Eagle Aide parent group! When you purchase a sign, it will be hung for 2 years. What a great way to promote your business and give back to the students at EJES at the same time! Feel free to contact Jeff Rogers when the time is right for you to purchase.
Thank you to all those special EJ "dudes" that came out on Friday! We appreciate you all and the role your play in the lives of our smallest eagles!
