It's time to celebrate our amazing grandparents! 🎉
East Jackson Elementary is thrilled to celebrate our EJES grandparents with a special drop-in Grandparent's Open House during the week of September 15. We invite grandparents to stop by their grandchild's classroom to see what they've been learning and experience a day in their school life. To ensure everyone has a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we're limiting attendance to two grandparents per student.Â
We know your schedules are busy, so this is a casual, come-and-go event. Feel free to arrive and leave whenever you'd like during your grandchild's designated one-hour window. Check out the graphic for your grandchild’s specific day and time. Because we have so much learning happening, we ask that you not visit other grade levels or classes and you cannot get siblings from other classes. If you have multiple grand kids you may have to visit us a few times throughout the week. During your time with us, it's the perfect opportunity to:
Meet your grandchild’s teacher and friends.
Get a tour of the classroom.
See all the fantastic projects they've been working on.
You might even get challenged to a friendly math game, so be prepared! We can't wait to welcome you to our school. Don’t forget to have your ID ready when you arrive. All first time visitors must have their ID scanned to get a visitors badge. It would be a good idea just to have it even if it isn’t your first time.

The Eastside Eagle Foundation is excited to announce our 1st Annual Putt for a Purpose Fundraiser. The event is a putt-putt tournament at the miniature golf course at Strange Duck. This is intended to be a fun family event for all ages. I have included an attachment for the event below and encourage all interested parties to register using the QR code provided or this LINK. I have also attached the fundraiser information in case you know of a business that might be interested in sponsoring the event.
To celebrate literacy month at EJES, we have some exciting news. In August, our school read a little over 82,000 minutes. If we can read 85,000 minutes in September, Mrs. Pennington and Mrs. Dillow will be sent to work on the roof for a day on October! Fill out those reading logs and let's send them to the roof!!
When you turn in those reading logs each month, Mrs. Wheeler is tracking all minutes. Read 1,000 minutes by January 1st and you will earn a FREE Rock Lobster ticket!
We are excited to offer birthday shout-outs on our new LED sign for $5. Use THIS LINK to sign up. Please fill out the form and complete payment at the same time. The form and payment must be completed at least 1 week prior to their birthday. You can submit 1 photo to go with their birthday message. All funds will go towards faculty & staff appreciation. Signs will be up for 1 week frofrom Friday around noon to the next Friday around noon.
