Dr. Daniel Maher has his roots in the Chicago suburbs and practices medicine at John Hopkins Hospital. His story includes his mentors, the ups and downs of making the grade, and the importance of self-compassion. The most enjoyable part of being a doctor to him is “hearing people’s stories and finding ways to help them.” Dan reminds students that it’s not about getting from point A to point B, but rather the joy of life between those two points.
