Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Lessons

Unit Three - Session One

Students begin to understand how money helps people reach their personal goals and dreams. They also learn how important it is to help keep their city alive and healthy. Dr. Jenkins and Miss Mansour demonstrate how to create a fun and healthy snack at the end of the session.

Unit Three - Session Two

Students learn about invisible money and how it is exchanged for goods and services. They also learn about STEAM careers and how they can connect their passions with different jobs in the future. At the end of the lesson, students will have the chance to become scientists with swag.

Unit Three - Session Three

This session focuses on entrepreneurs and why they need a plan for their business ideas. Students also begin to understand how entrepreneurs use their creativity to solve problems around them. At the end of the session, Ms. Mottley shows how to make a delicious, sweet treat at home.

Students learn how money moves through a city from consumers to businesses to government. They begin to understand why money is important for a city to continue working for its citizens. At the end of the session, students have a chance to design their own city.

Unit Three - Session Five

Students learn how choices make a city a great place to live, work, and play. They begin to understand how cities are zoned and how buildings are designed and constructed. At the end of the session, students get to build the city they designed in the last lesson using household items.
