Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington Regional Science Olympiad

Locations

NOTE: B and C teams: Please be prepared to transport students from one building to the other. Students will not be allowed to walk unattended from one building to the next (you must leave Ivy Tech property between buildings). All events, with the exception of some flying and shooting events, will occur in the Connie and Steve Ferguson Academic Building. The flying events and those requiring tall ceilings have to remain at the ICLS because of space needed, so please do have a transportation plan in place.

Navigation within Buildings: As part of Ivy Tech's expanded "Working with Minors Policy", middle school students (and high school students that look like middle school students to our security guards) are no longer allowed to walk unaccompanied within the halls without being stopped by security. The official policy is as follows, so please be sure to have adults walk students to their competition rooms, especially if time is an issue. Unaccompanied students will be stopped by security.

1. All Minors on the campus must be supervised at all times by an adult.

2. Unsupervised or unescorted Minors may be stopped and questioned by Campus Security as to the whereabouts of their parent or guardian. The Minor will be escorted back to their program or to the parent/guardian responsible for them being on campus.

3. Exception: High school-aged children are generally permitted at events and venues on campus that are open to the public. Examples of such events include intramural sport contests and campus tours. The College reserves the right to restrict anyone, including high school-aged children, from certain areas or facilities or from utilizing specified equipment.

4. High school-aged children not meeting College’s conduct standards may be directed to leave the campus and/or trespassed from the campus by Campus Security or campus administrators.
