Eastern Redbud is a small ornamental tree native to the eastern United States, typically growing 20–30 feet tall. It is commonly found along forest edges and in residential landscapes due to its striking spring display.

In early spring, clusters of small, pink to purple flowers bloom directly along the branches and trunk (cauliflory—flowers on wood) before the leaves emerge. The leaves are heart-shaped and begin as a reddish color before turning green.

By summer, the tree produces flat seed pods (dry fruit containing seeds) that persist into winter. In fall, the foliage turns a soft yellow. Eastern Redbud is valued for its early-season color and ability to support pollinators.
