About Us

Rebecca Chung

Elementary Resource Counseling Specialist

Hello everyone! I had the privilege of joining Woodbury as the Elementary Resource Counselor (ERC) in 2020. I was born and raised in Orange County and then went up north for college at UC Berkeley, where my love for working with children turned into a passion to helping all children succeed. I graduated with a B.A. in Social Welfare and then went on to receive my Master's in Social Welfare and Pupil Personnel Credential from UCLA.

After working for a couple of years as an Elementary School Counselor, my husband and I moved halfway across the world to live abroad in China and Korea. What was supposed to be a one-year adventure turned to almost 10 years of living overseas. We returned back to the States in 2018 with 2 kids and a dog and I began working with students again in IUSD, first as a Guidance Assistant and now as the ERC at Woodbury. I'm excited to provide our students and families the social-emotional support needed to help our children not only be academically successful, but also socially and emotionally healthy and resilient.

Elementary Resource Counseling Specialist

Hi everyone! I joined the Woodbury counseling team in 2023. I was born and raised in Arcadia, California and lived there my whole life until recently moving to Costa Mesa! I come from a family of educators and always had a passion for working with the youth. I graduated from University of Redlands with the B.A. and Azusa Pacific University with my M.A. in educational counseling with a PPS credential.

I have worked in multiple schools throughout my career ranging from elementary to high school and I have always wanted to be a counselor so I am very excited for the opportunity to work with all of you! I look forward to getting to know our families and offering support to help our children thrive academically and emotionally.

GO MUSTANGS!

Barbara Baker

Guidance Assistant

I was born a long time ago in Los Angeles to a loving family.  I even got two older brothers and a dog!  We moved to Newport Beach when I was in the first grade, and was lucky to grow up there!  We lived on an island in the bay where I sailed, swam, body surfed and flourished in the Southern California sun.  After I graduated from High School, I attended Orange Coast College for a year, then transferred to San Diego State University.  I earned my degree in Journalism with an emphasis on Advertising.  I met my husband in Mexico and got married in 1988.  We went on to raise three beautiful children (two daughters and a son) in Irvine.  I have worked for the district since 2003 at Woodbury's predecessor school, El Camino Elementary.  I have a very deep love for this school since I have been a parent and employee for many years!  I am so fortunate to work with an amazing group of people that truly care for their students and want them to all thrive.  It truly is a fantastic community to be part of!

 Go Mustangs!
