Giving Bach
Giving Bach is the philanthropic arm of our instrumental music program. Giving Bach was originally created by Richard Meyer while he taught at Oak Avenue Intermediate School in Temple City, California. The purpose of which is two-fold:
1. Provide live, interactive concerts for students with special-needs who do not get an opportunity to see and hear an orchestra.
2. Help our students realize how their musical abilities can be used to enrich the lives of others.
Since initiating this program at Sierra Vista we have played:
for students in special needs programs at both Greentree and Portola Springs Elementary Schools
in downtown Santa Ana in coordination with Operation Feed the Homeless
for residents at the Atria Woodbridge Senior Living Community
for patients at the Advanced Rehab in Tustin
Christmas carols at various elementary schools and the students at Sierra Vista
Surprise birthday performances for Sierra Vista staff
