Disneyland "Soundtrack Session"
Every year, our eighth grade Band and Orchestra students participate in a field trip to Disneyland where our goal is to have fun and learn something at the same time. We participate in the Disney Performing Arts "Soundtrack Session" Workshop where we have a two-hour session in a Disney recording studio. Following our workshop, students are free to enjoy the park. The Disneyland Performing Arts Department describes the event this way:

Students step into an actual sound studio and take part in a simulated film recording session, complete with video playback, headphones and click track. A Disneyland® Resort musical director conducts the session, treating students like professional studio musicians who sight-read and bring life to the score of Disney animation segments. This hands-on, learning laboratory teaches the high standards of musicianship and a professional work ethic in a manner that can be related to many other careers and educational pursuits. The workshop ends with a viewing of the student-recorded track, combined with each animated segment.
