VISUAL IMAGERY PATHWAYS

and can be taken in a non-consecutive order
Visual Imagery is a course that guides students through an in-depth exploration of photography as an art form. This class explores the fundamentals of basic photographic processes and creative expression of ideas. Students will become proficient in utilizing film, darkroom processes, and digital photography using Adobe Photoshop to refine and produce their work. This is a year-long course that students can take in any sequence (fall, then spring, or spring before fall, or non-consecutive semesters).
Recommended Placement: 2 semesters of Visual Imagery

Advanced Visual Imagery students build on techniques learned in Visual Imagery (beginning photo). Students will explore multiple photographic techniques for personal creative expression of their concepts and ideas. Students will create multiple original works and assemble a portfolio, website, and/or publish a book. After 2 Semesters of Advanced Imagery students may enroll in AP 2D Design for photography

Students who have taken 2 semesters of Adv. Visual Imagery may enroll in AP 2D Design. AP 2D Design (Photography) students work toward the development of a comprehensive portfolio that will meet the requirements for entry into college-level classes and satisfy the AP college board requirements. This is an intense full-year course developed to accommodate students who have demonstrated a strong interest and commitment to excel in their photographic artwork.
