Designed to instruct art students in software programs such as Adobe Photoshop, XD, InDesign, and Illustrator. Students will apply art and graphic design principles with computer technology to visually communicate concepts and ideas. Projects include but are not limited to app design, entertainment design, and product design. This is a year long course that students can take in any sequence (fall, then spring, or spring before fall).
Recommended Placement: A passing grade for both semesters of Computer Graphics or teacher approval.

College Prep Course

Designed to provide students with prior Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, and InDesign experience independent learning opportunities through advanced project-based curriculum. Students will develop a cohesive 2D design portfolio based on real-world assignments. Projects include but are not limited to: app design, editorial design, entertainment design, product and packaging design. Students choose a specific theme, i.e. sustained investigation, resulting in a cohesive portfolio for college portfolio preparation.This is a year long course that students can take in any sequence (fall, then spring, or spring before fall).
Recommended Placement: A passing grade for two semesters of Advanced Visual Imagery/Photo, Advanced Computer Graphics, or Teacher Permission after completion of 1 year of related art course.

College Prep Course
This course focuses on building a portfolio with emphasis on design elements and principles for submission in May to the College Board. Students in this course can choose between a variety of pathways for their portfolio: Digital Illustration, Product Design, Entertainment Design, etc. Students will digitally submit fifteen portfolio pieces. Of the fifteen artworks, five printed works are sent to AP College Board. All work is evaluated by AP College Board in early May.
