This course develops personal expression and creativity through the medium of ceramics. Emphasis is placed on application of the elements and principles of design. This is a yearlong course that students can take in any sequence (fall, then spring, or spring before fall).

Students will further develop an understanding of processes of both traditional and modern forms and techniques and make comparisons. Different firing methods will be explored. This is a yearlong course that students can take in any sequence (fall, then spring, or spring before fall). Pre-requisite: at least two semesters of Beginning Ceramics or teacher approval.
Recommended Placement: A passing grade in two or more semesters of Ceramics and teacher approval.

This class is an intensive challenge to develop a comprehensive portfolio for submission to the College Board, demonstrating the integration of three dimensional concepts, including: depth, space, volume, and surface. Students must be able to read and follow instructions independently, take criticism, and ask for clarification when needed. Pre-requisite: at least two semesters of Advanced Ceramics or teacher approval.
