Some Important issues in June 2020:

STUDIO MANAGEMENT

• Design studios were conducted online except for Design Studio 1A and 3B. (F2F Studios)

• No face to face class for June 2020

• Most lecturer works from home.

• The new online learning for design studio were prepared while maintaining the minimum quality of student work.

• Emphasis that the final assessment must be done by more than 2 assessors

• The crits, final presentation and portfolio review were planned to be done virtually throughout the semester

STUDIO LEARNING PLATFORM

• Everyone agreed to use Google Classroom in the Design Studio for June 2020 as a standard platform

• For virtual meeting application it is up to the studio master's preference. Zoom and Google Meet are the 2 most popular.

• Jamboard has been experimentally used in some studio for digital interaction medium

PROJECT MATRIX

• Most of the project are the same in term of size and theme as in previous semester

• A few issues highlighted:

○ Physical Model in virtual class: material and quality

○ Students constraint on getting access to internet and supply

○ Issue on doing site analysis; need to acquire information online

○ For Urban Design project, the site analysis supposed to use the previous semester site

SUBMISSION

• Most of the submission were digital except for F2F Studios

• Only Portfolio Compilation was expected to be submit physically
