Work Experience

  • Certified Nursing Assistant at Community Nursing and Rehabilitation (February 2018 - November 2018): I started my certified nursing assistant course my junior year of high school. With being a certified nursing assistant I had several different tasks to do and I had several different residents to attend to. With being a certified nursing assistant I had several tasks to do. I had to be on top of patient care and safety, mobilize the ability of observe HIPAA and privacy regulations, record the residents information with accuracy and most importantly I had to perform my assigned task in a timely and productive manner as I had several residents at a time. This experience really allowed me to work with different professionals in the medical field as well as working with residents who were affected by alzheimers which is what my internship is about. This experience allowed me to actually see how alzheimers not only affected the resident but their families as well.

  • Dietary Aide at The Hearth at Tudor Gardens (January 2018 - July 2018): At The Heart at Tudor Gardens I would deliver and serve food to residents that lived there. With being a dietary aide I had several different tasks especially since majority of the residents were on strict meal plans. Some of my tasks consisted of adhering to safety guidelines, serving meals using standards that maintained sanitation, having to communicate with nursing staff to ensure residents are receiving the appropriate meals and to work as team to ensure residents get their food in a timely manner. This job has taught me to become a better team member. When working with several different team members it is important to stay on track of our own tasks as it can affect the tasks the other person is trying to accomplish.

  • Journeys Underground (June 2017 - December 2017): At Journeys Underground I learned a lot about myself and time management as it was my first job. At this job I had several different tasks like collaborating as a team with co-workers to ensure daily sale goals are met, completing sales transactions accurately, stocking the floor and back room and communicating with customers in both English and Spanish. Before working at Journeys I was really shy, so being able to communicate with customers in English and Spanish helped me outgrow that and become more confident in myself.
