Introduction

Since late 2019, COVID-19 has spread across the world, affecting 120 million people in approximately 2.6 million deaths. In this country, there were 29,500,000 confirmed cases with 536,000 deaths. The SARS symptoms causing death is due to severe bronchiolar and alveolar damage and necrosis causing death. The SARS-CoV-2 has an affinity for the ACE2 receptor found in respiratory bronchiolar and alveolar epithelium. In this study, lung pathology of 48 patients who had died from severe COVID-19 symptoms were examined along with negative cases (table 1). These lung samples were collected post mortem and the decedents were not seen in a clinical setting.
