The top three causes of death were complications of COVID-19, drug intoxication, and pneumonia. Other notable causes of death included trauma (homicide/suicide), heart disease/CVD, and type 2 diabetes (IDDM).

Gross Path lung lesions included thrombi (33%), congestion/edema (13.3%), hemorrhage (2.2%)
Microscopic lesions included acute inflammation including hyaline membrane (13.3%), bronchiolar (53.3%)/alveolar (51.1%) necrosis/damage, micro thrombi (33.3%), and chronic inflammation with fibroplasia (35.6%).
