About Me

I am currently a second year undergrad student. My current major is Biology BS with minors in Chemistry and Spanish on the pre-med track. This major was most fitted for me because I love the explorative world of science. It also aligned greatly with my future careers.

Teamwork

As a team member, my strengths are keeping the team organized and running smoothly. I also like to double check my work with others and myself before finalizing anything. I am also not afraid to ask questions or for help which aids when I am confused. It always better to be organized, prepared, open-minded and ready to help in any way!

Past Experiences & Skills

My parents has owned an Asian Grocery store since 2005 and a restaurant in 2017. For as long as I can remember I worked along side them as their translator, I handled all business paperwork while also working as a cashier and waitress. I honed my customer service skills here. I eventually worked at old navy where my customer service skills allowed me to become a lead sales person in the district for credit cards. I was offered the managerial position but left to be a certified nursing assistant once I got my license. As a CNA, I helped provide care for resident's activities of daily living, monitor their health and keep track of their progression.

My Experiences and Skills

So far, my experience has been a lot of training. Whether it is online training or training with data entry. It has been nice to be able to start an internship like this and get a better understanding of the clinical setting. It has taught me to be more thorough when extracting information. They have even provided me with a cheat sheet to make the process of identifying the information that is needed on the forms more easier to find. Clinical notes can be super confusing.

I so far have enjoyed learning more about the difference between Type 1 & 2 Diabetes and how it impacts children who suffer from it. A majority of these kids have different circumstances that impact their ability to get proper healthcare at Riley's diabetes clinics. A lot of diabetes work is focused on adults rather than children, there are more medication readily available for adults than they are for children. So far the skills I have found most handy, is communication. Being able to ask questions will always better the learning experience. It is especially handy when there is confusion, it clears things up quickly.

I feel as though the more I work
