I selected Instagram as my first platform because it is one of the most active and familiar spaces for IU Indianapolis students. Most students already use Instagram daily for quick updates, reminders, and wellness content, which makes it the strongest place to reach them where they naturally spend time. Instagram also aligns well with the visual and simple communication style students prefer.
For my plan, I will use Instagram to share short mental health tips, myths vs. facts, workshop reminders, and step-by-step guidance on how to schedule a CAPS appointment. Features like Stories, Reels, and carousel posts make it easy to highlight clear information in a format students can understand in just a few seconds. Stories will be used for polls, Q&A boxes, and quick links, which supports my objective to increase awareness of CAPS by giving students frequent and interactive content. Overall, Instagram helps me present CAPS services in a friendly, accessible way that encourages students to engage and learn more.

I chose Twitter (X) as my second platform because it works well for quick updates that students can read in just a few seconds. Many students use Twitter throughout the day for reminders, real-time information, and short educational posts, which makes it a strong tool for keeping CAPS visible and consistent. Twitter supports my objective to increase student interaction by allowing frequent posts that are easy to engage with through likes, retweets, and link clicks.
For this plan, I will use Twitter to share same-day reminders about workshops, quick mental health tips, short facts about counseling, and direct links to CAPS services. Posting several times a day makes CAPS feel more accessible and approachable, especially for students who prefer fast, simple communication rather than long messages. This platform helps me maintain steady engagement and ensures students always have easy access to resources and support.
