Welcome to the IU Southeast Library newsletter!
Featuring the latest Library news, research help info, and much more.
New Book Drop Location!
We have a brand new book drop! Our old book drop was in dire need of replacement and we decided it would be nice to have it closer to the Library itself. You can find the new book drop at the bottom of the Library walkway. You can still drive up and conveniently drop your items off, too!
New Library Service Desk!
Perhaps the biggest difference you'll notice this Fall is that we've combined our Reference & Circulation Desks into a one-stop shop called the Library Service Desk. A result of three librarians retiring and a long-term goal of merging into a central service point, you can get everything done now in one location. No more guessing which desk can help you with what!
The Service Desk will also include students serving as Peer Research Assistants to help their fellow students with basic research questions. Librarians will always be available for advanced research needs.
There are some exciting changes for Library Instruction beginning this semester! Instruction for your classes will be available beginning the week of September 7, 2021. Here are a few other things to keep in mind:
You can choose to have your library instruction in-person, synchronous via Zoom or asynchronous via Canvas.
Whatever you decide, you can begin by submitting your request for instruction here: https://libguides.ius.edu/instruction
Please make sure to submit your request at least 2 weeks in advance.
For questions regarding instruction, please contact Maria Accardi at maccardi@ius.edu
As some of you may know, former Director of Library Services Marty Rosen retired in early 2021. Our new director is the Library's own Kate Moore!
Kate began her career at the Library in 2009 as the Coordinator of Collections & Online Resources and was selected to be our new Director in 2021. We hope the next time you visit the Library you'll stop by to congratulate Kate on her new role!
The Library provides access to more than 450 databases,
all of which you can access online 24/7 by clicking here.
