At the time I created my first journey map, I was 19 years old and in the fall semester of my junior year, beginning my first semester in the Honors program while completing ICORE. I had just concluded an intensive summer internship centered on nonprofit service and spiritual growth, and I was simultaneously interning at the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office.
I was entering the second half of my college career, a period when my interests and passions were beginning to crystallize. I felt increasingly curious and energized to explore my fields of study ,finance and philanthropy, while still carrying the strong influence of my earlier experiences, particularly those from high school. Even the design choices of the map, such as the pink glitter border, vibrant colors, and hearts, reflect my personality and mindset at that stage of life. This journey map captures who I was at that moment and what mattered most to me then.
From the outset, my approach to design and professionalism has evolved. While I still enjoy incorporating bright, fun colors, I now present my work in a more refined and polished way. This balance, maintaining my personality and uniqueness while rising to the expectations of each professional setting, is something I plan to carry with me throughout my career.
In this journey map, I place less emphasis on my K–12 experiences and instead focus on my undergraduate years. Each year of college has been deeply formative, shaping who I am and clarifying my personal and professional goals. While I retained similar details from my previous journey map regarding my academic standing and internships, this iteration allows me to expand on new and defining experiences, including my internship at Charles Schwab, my study abroad experience in Japan, completing ICORE, beginning my role as a Kelley Ambassador, and reflecting on my plans as I enter my final semester and look toward the future.
Creating this journey map has been a nostalgic process. It highlights how quickly time has passed and how much my life has changed. Revisiting the questions I posed in my earlier journey map and seeing how this year has unfolded has been especially meaningful. One consistent theme across both journey maps is an invitation to curiosity, approaching each day with openness and a commitment to continuous growth in my career. I have included photos from my first internship with Mission Indy and from my study abroad experience in Japan to visually capture these pivotal moments.
