Hello! My name is Heather Toland, and I am an Honors Student at the Kelley School of Business majoring in accounting and minoring with the Lilly School of Philanthropy in Philanthropic Studies. I am passionate about serving others, especially those facing homelessness and food insecurity in Indianapolis. I hope to combine my business skills with my heart for nonprofit service in my professional career.
I am a caring, playful, and lighthearted person. My favorite part of attending University is forming relationships with others, while gaining new experiences and learning. My largest extracurricular involvement is serving as president of Living Faith Student Ministry, a Christian organization on campus.

I organize and lead weekly meetings we call "life groups" on campus. These meetings allow us to come together as a community and have fellowship, spiritual discussions, and prayer for one another.
Making relationships with my peers and professors is what makes getting a college education worth it, to me. I am a social person; I feel like you learn so much from interacting with others and hearing their thoughts and life experiences. Here is a photo of one of my classes that became close over the semester; my professor, Dr.Meritt, took this photo to remember us by.
As an Honors student, I hope to grow my work ethic and become a hard working, driven, and self motived person in my academic, professional, and personal life.
I hope to impact the culture of the Honors College and Kelley School of Business by creating a hardworking, yet caring and open atmosphere.
After almost 5 semesters of college and my experience in Honors H-200, I have compiled my journey map here. As an artistic and creative person, I found that illustrating my journey from the beginning of school allowed me to visualize my journey the best.
