[Brief Intro]
Hello! My name is Michael Peck and I am a senior at IUPUI studying Psychology and Data Science. I am pursuing a career in research and hope to one day study attention, decision-making, and addiction in adolescent and young adult populations. My next steps are applying to graduate programs in Clinical Psychology and Epidemiology.
[I Am Statement]
During my time at IUPUI and in the Honor's college I have discovered the grit, passion, and curiosity within me that have allowed me to excel within my program, community, and personal life. Through my determination I have maintained a high GPA while also being involved on campus as an honors mentor, tutor at the Mathematics Assistance Center (MAC), and work with professors on research and community engagement projects.Â
As I engaged in research through programs such as LHSI and UROP I found my passion for reserach and have begun my capstone thesis studying attention as I finish out my undergraduate degree. My curiosity has pushed me to involve myself with the Mothers on the Rise (MOR) storytelling project and helped me discover my interest in maternal child health and continue to work within my community to promote MOR and their mission of breaking the stigma surronding previously incarcerated mothers.

This reflection allowed me to process some of my best traits and some areas I can grow in. Through this reflection I was able to position myself to beable to consoder how my identity fits in to my goals and future.
