[Description] A short reflection of my personal goals and how I would like to grow as a person, student, and professional.
[I Want to Become Statement] Ever since I was a child I’ve had a natural curiosity about the world around me and everything within that world. This curiosity has matured into a love for learning. More recently I have begun to aspire to discover and explain what is currently unknown or not understood. In the future, I plan to explore in the hopes that I can create new ideas and understanding to increase my knowledge. I want to make advances in my field, most likely through research so that not only my understanding is grown, but so that those around me can experience the joy of increased understanding. Through my internship and current coursework, I have been able to explore this growth and begin to step down the path of becoming an explorer.
[Reflection]
Through this reflection I was able to approach my personal goals for myself. I choose to reflect who I wanted to become by highlighting specific areas I want to grow in. These specific principles allowed me to consider my future self in metrics and how each of those metrics represented my more tangible career goals. With my career goals as a guide I think that I was very successful at my consideration of who I want to become in the future, as well as justifying this with how it relates to my academic and career goals. I was also able to give tangible routes to ensuring that the goals set for myself within the reflection could be reached. Overall this reflection was a great excersise in introspection and goal-setting as it relates to my academic and professional aspirations.
[Description]
This journey map is a visual reflection of my journey through my undergraduate experience. It contains both the events and experiences that brought me to this point and my futures goals and plans.
[Reflection]
While doing this assignment I focused on my longterm goal of graduate school. Doing this assignment helped me to think proactively about what experiences and programs would help me reach my end goal. I was also able to begin applications for these experiences and plan for their inclusion in my schedule.
I was also able to reflect on my achievements up to this point, which allowed me to recognize the incredible strides and growth I've had up to this point. My involvement with the MAC has given me leadership skills as I mentored students in math classes to improve their understanding and course performance.
