The Physically Active Residential Communities and Schools (PARCS) Program is a fitness outreach program located in urban Indianapolis, primarily operated by students of the School of Health and Human Sciences at IUPUI. The purpose of this project was to collect feedback from clients of the PARCS Program, so we could use the feedback to guide programming in the future to better meet the needs of our clientele, as well as make informed suggestions to our community partner, John Boner Neighborhood Centers. We used surveys to assess demographics, usage of our services, satisfaction with our services, and additional services they would like to have. Surveys included quantitative and qualitative analysis and were distributed through signage at the fitness center and email. Outcomes from this survey show we are serving a very different demographic, who appreciate different things about the gym, in the morning compared to the evening. The morning population is older and enjoys the community of the gym, and the evening population is younger and likes the price and location. Overall, most participants have not utilized PARCS program services. 22.45% have done a fitness assessment, 12.24% have received personal training, and 42.86% have participated in a group fitness class. Surveys provided additional feedback on ways the program could be improved and how the attendance and lifestyles of the members have been impacted by COVID-19. In the future, programming should focus on increasing usage of our services, and using varied methods to accommodate different demographics within the fitness center.
