My Successes -
So far, a time that I have felt successful as an intern is a couple weeks after training. When I was doing my training, there were many challenges I faced, as there is so much information in the EMR that we have to sort through. I felt like I had to retain so much information and I was getting through maybe 2 patients a day. However, after a couple of weeks once I got a hang of everything, I was going through so many patients just in one hour and I didn't even realize how far I came in such a short period of time. Thus, I was definitely proud of myself for that. Some resources/actions that I sought out/took were asking my supervisor if I had any questions, taking initiative to get re-trained on some aspects, and working with my co-worker to sort out challenges. This will definitely help me in my future career. My successes have taught me to be proactive, ask questions, and work efficiently and effectively.
My Challenges -
The most challenging part of my experience has been staying focused on my work for multiple hours. What has led to this challenge is the sheer amount of content I have to go through at my internship in the EMR. Sorting through so much information can become tedious at times. Some support I sought out to overcome this challenge was taking short breaks and splitting the work between my co-worker and I (as we have been doing).
