Emerging Expertise in Human Resources
The three artifacts I chose highlight the core competencies I’ve developed across compensation strategy, employee development, and negotiation. Each experience strengthened a different dimension of my HR skill set, from analytical evaluation and pay structure design, to facilitating training that builds workplace capability, to navigating complex negotiations with confidence and strategy. Together, they demonstrate my ability to blend data‑driven decision‑making with strong communication and interpersonal skills. They also reflect my growth in leading conversations, supporting employees, and approaching challenges with both structure and empathy. Collectively, these artifacts represent the foundation of my emerging expertise as a future HR professional.
Designed a defensible pay structure by creating job descriptions, evaluating benchmark roles, and conducting a regression analysis to align internal equity with market competitiveness.
Created a conflict‑resolution training that applied ADDIE analysis, instructional design principles, and lecture‑based conflict management frameworks to improve employee communication and collaboration.
Delivered a negotiation presentation based on the EuroTechnologies simulation, highlighting our team’s strategy, the bargaining process with the opposing group, and key insights gained through post‑negotiation reflection.
Through these experiences, I strengthened my analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills core competencies that directly support my career goals in Human Resources. I learned how to evaluate roles and design compensation systems, how to facilitate training that builds employee capability, and how to negotiate strategically using tactics like BATNA, forbearance, and collaborative problem‑solving. These experiences helped me grow more confident in leading conversations, interpreting data, and supporting employees through complex situations. As I move into my HR career, these skills will allow me to contribute meaningfully to talent development, employee relations, and organizational strategy.
