About Me

I was born in Bulgaria about two decades ago. I learned to speak English when I was six, and my parents and I moved to the states when I was seven. Since then, I have been quite interested in math and science. I enjoyed both the clear explanations of the world, and how those explanations could be used neat things like put an egg into a flask or shoot a Ping-Pong ball with the use of air pressure. Those experiences taught me the importance of curiosity and the power of science.

Once I got to I chose to study Biomedical engineering because I want to solve real and meaningful problems. The solutions to those problems stemmed from the findings of scientists and the creative problem solving method . These types of problems tend to medical and require carefully designed technology to solve.

During my freshman year, I was involved with a research assistant at the Weise lab. There I was a research assistant that worked on cleaving proteins to see how they would react under various conditions.

I was also involved in the alternate spring break program. We studied what happened to veterans. We learned about the everything from there views, their experiences, and how society treated them after they returned. I learned how my fellow classmates on the same program as me to work as a team during that time as we worked to help the veterans that we met that were down on their luck.

My strengths as a team member stem for ability to problem solve. I am also quickly capable of understanding a person's strengths and weakness. For this reason, I am really good at creating timelines so everything stays on track and the deadline can be met.

A few tasks I do not enjoy doing are those that involve doing something right but not knowing how to do it. For example, I enjoy filing paperwork because I know how to do it. In fact its relaxing. However, tasks that I have only been shown once and told to do ten times stress me out. I am not sure if I am doing the tasks properly, and I am nervous about making a mistake.

I have learned that I am fairly independent as a worker. This was after some transitioning, I figured out that I try to figure stuff out and only then ask questions. My strengths include being independent and critically thinking how to solve problems and get the needed results.
