My professional goal includes becoming a dentist in hopes of having the opportunity to practice in Indiana and utilize my bilingual skills to aid the Latino community. I am very passionate about dentistry as I have been an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant for 8 years. Some of the daily assisting duties include placing fillings, fabricating temporary crowns and bridges, lab work, utilizing the latest technology to design fixed prosthesis (i.e, crowns and bridges), and much more! When I am not in school or at work, I mentor my little sister from Big Brothers Big Sisters, draw or paint, and spend time with my support team, my family. I always find ways to stay involved with the community and I make sure that I stay learning. Knowledge is power!
In any work setting, it takes a team's strengths, skills, and support to provide quality, efficient work. I am a big believer in providing quality work because it is important to me to leave a positive representation of who I am. Being a good team member means taking the initiative to improve any work obstacles that may interfere with a company's mission. Additionally, taking the initiative means to help team members in challenging situations. For example, at the dental office, I have had team members that are having a difficult time with a procedure so I will the initiative to relieve them from the situation. I also enjoy teaching my peers what I already know so we can be a strong and experienced team for the office to better treat patients. "Teamwork makes the dream work"!
