Tracking Stroke Patient Recovery with Wrist-Worn Sensors

Problem: A way to obtain quantitative position and motion data from a stroke patient's hand movements in their daily life that improves upon the subjective metrics used currently and provides medical professionals with the information needed to decide their treatment plan.

Meet BME Design Team 6

Zahrah Almuhaimeed

Zahrah Almuhaimeed is a biomedical engineering senior specializing in biomechanics, with a minor in mathematics. After graduation, she plans on earning a master's degree and finding a career in the medical device industry. She enjoys reading, painting, and baking.

Isaac Demaree

Isaac Demaree is a senior in Biomedical Engineering with a depth area of bioinstrumentation. After graduation, Isaac will be attending The Indiana University School of Medicine with an interest in surgery. His hobbies include reading, cooking, walking, and visiting parks

Max Pugh

Max Pugh is a biomedical engineering senior with a depth area in biomechanics. After graduation, Max is joining the workforce while hoping to stay in Indianapolis. Outside of class, He enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, and golf as well as spending time outside, hiking, and kayaking.

Sidnee Zeiser

Sidnee Zeiser is a biomedical engineering senior with a focus in biomaterials and a minor in mathematics. She currently works in a neural engineering lab focused on brain-machine interfaces in the IU School of Medicine Stark Neurosciences Research Center. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Master’s degree with thesis in Biomedical Engineering at IUPUI. In her free time, she enjoys going on walks, spending time with her friends, and cooking.
