Get to Know Me

Hello!  My name is Adam Trinkle!  I was born and raised in Schererville, Indiana and attended Lake Central High School, where I played basketball and football.  I started lifting seriously my junior year of high school and quickly got addicted to it and this hobby quickly turned into wanting to become a physical therapist or athletic trainer!  Other than lifting some of my other interests are playing sports, hanging out with my friends, fishing, and hunting!

A couple of life experiences that shaped me into who I am today is when my grandparent's got cancer and when I got into a car accident.  When my grandparent's got cancer I was hurt and would always help them with anything I could.  I was also enrolled in introduction to sports medicine and anatomy in high school during this time, so I tried to give them stretches to do or give them information on nutrition to handle some of that soreness or bodily aches.  So, from that point on I always thought of helping others, as a way I helped my grandparents.  My car accident was another big part in my life where I learned quickly of the things you have should be taken care of and I also learned that life is very fragile and we need to enjoy it while we can.  I consider myself lucky that I still am here and now I want to use my abilities and values to make an impact on this world.  I also got closer to God and now I think of myself as someone religious.

I am attending Indiana University Indianapolis because I wanted to get a great education, but also to be somewhat close to home.  It was a tough decision between going to college or going into a trades school but discussing this between many people that went to college and also people that went to the trades.  One factor that really made me want to proceed with college is that those people in the trades all have body problems like bad knees or shoulders.  After college I want to become a physical therapist or athletic trainer.  I was lucky enough to have a bond with my athletic trainer from high school and what he did really sparked an interest in pursuing a career in athletic trainer and/or physical therapy.
