The duty for my service-learning project was to set up the 25th Annual Buddy Walk. We moved around chairs, tables, and arranged places for food to be placed. Even though it went by pretty quickly considering how many others volunteered for that day, I enjoyed knowing I can help out the community and gain experience from it!
Some things I learned along the way was how compassionate the people there were and the power of making a positive impact on others! Additionally, I felt like I got to learn important skills like teamwork, leadership, and communication. I was also able to gain an deeper understanding of different perspectives and our society.
