Carpenter Farms

Southern Engineering - Lincolnton, NC

This project consisted of the site grading work for the proposed housing development above.  Work being performed consisted of manly of observing overall site grading operations, performing density and compaction testing of backfill material, and performing proofrolling observations on final grade residential lots.

Homewood / Brookside / Acorn – Waterline

City of Stow, OH

This project consisted of installation of a new C909 waterline along Homewood, Brookside, and Acorn roadways in the City of Stow, OH and included installation of fire hydrants. As a resident inspector I documented contractor workforce including number of employees, hours worked, equipment used, and delays if encountered. I also observed and documented excavation work, waterline material placement, fire hydrant connections and lateral installation, backfilling operations around pipes, final grading to allow for proper drainage, and grass seeding for work areas along Homewood Avenue.

Grant Road Extension and Parking Lot

Village of Richfield, OH

This project consisted of the expansion of Grant Road to Broadview Road, the addition of a parking lot, and the addition of a detention basin. As a resident inspector I observed and reported on the grading and placement of asphalt pavement materials (aggregate, tack coat, and asphalt), excavation, grading, and placement of permeable brick pavers for use in the roadway, concrete placement for curb, sidewalk, light pole foundations, and headwalls, the installation of conduit and wire for roadway and parking lot lighting.

Miner Drive – Storm Sewer

City of Brunswick, OH

This project consisted of the installation of approximately 3,200 lf of 12” to 42” pipe, 11 manholes, and 41 catch basins for the storm sewer drainage system for Miner Drive. As a resident inspector I observed and documented contractor workforce including number of employees, hours worked, equipment used, and delays if encountered. I also observed and documented construction operations in the form of the removal of pavement, drive aprons, and sidewalks, excavation of subgrade, elevation and slope verification, installation of catch basins, drainage structures, manholes, and pipes, backfilling, compaction, aggregate base, asphalt, and the connection to existing residential storm drainage. This work also included the relocation of various water, and sanitary lines that were found to impede the placement of the storm sewer. All information was documented and tracked by me and in many instances used for project billing and quantity tracking.

CUY-91 - Resurfacing, Mayfield Heights, Ohio

Ohio Department of Transportation

This project consisted of updating and replacing existing sidewalk, curb, and gutters to meet new ADA requirements along Cuyahoga County Route 91 (SOM Center Road) through the cities of Mayfield Heights, OH and Gates Mills, OH. As the ODOT inspector observed and documented contractor workforce, hours worked, equipment used, plans and specifications followed. I also performed inspections on grading, formwork, placement of concrete, testing of concrete, and verification of the final product for approval per applicable ODOT and ADA specifications.
