Liane Carroll is a multi-award-winning Jazz Singer, described by Jamie Cullum as "one of the greatest singers we have in this country". She came to Itchen on 20th March 2013 and ran a vocal workshop with music students before playing a memorable concert in the evening. She also came to the Itchen Radio studio for this interview with Jasmine Chilcott and Melissa Laity.

Liane Carroll has worked with many artists including Gerry Rafferty, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Sir Paul McCartney, who once sang backing vocals for her! She has also performed as lead vocalist and Wurlitzer keyboardist for the Drum & Bass band London Elektricity. She is a regular performer at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club.
