2025 ITA All-American Championships selection criteria

SELECTION CRITERIA

MEN’S & WOMEN’S SINGLES

Main Draw Singles (64 players) 

• • 1. 1. • 45 At-Large

            • • 1st Priority: Highest ranked player in each conference from ITA Preseason National Rankings (top 125 only)

              • 2nd Priority: Highest ranked players according to ITA Preseason National Rankings (top 125 only; freshmen and newcomers now eligible)

              • 3rd Priority: Once the two methods listed above have been exhausted, selections will be made according to WTN from the pool of players who submitted for entry (freshmen and newcomers are eligible).  WTNs as of the week of August 25th will be used. 

          • 1 Automatic Qualifier- ITA National Summer Championships Champion 

          • 16 Qualifiers

          • 2 Wild Cards

            • • 1 Host Institution Wild Card 

              • 1 ITA Wild Card 

Qualifying Draw Singles (64 players) 

• 40 At-large

  • • 1st Priority: Highest ranked players according to ITA Preseason National Rankings (top 125 only)

    • 2nd Priority: According to WTN, from the pool of players who submitted for entry (freshmen and newcomers are eligible).  WTNs as of the week of August 25th will be used. 

• 1 Automatic Qualifier- ITA National Summer Championships Finalist 

• 20 Qualifiers

• 3 Wild Cards

  • • 2 Host Institution Wild Cards

    • 1 ITA Wild Card

Pre-Qualifying Singles (160 players) 

• 157 At-Large

  • • 1st Priority: Highest ranked players according to the ITA Preseason National Rankings (top 125 only)

    • 2nd Priority: Players from conferences not represented in the main draw or qualifying draw who apply for entry will be ordered by WTN.  WTNs as of the week of August 25th will be used. 

    • 3rd Priority: Players from ITA regions not represented in the main draw or qualifying draw who apply for entry will be ordered by WTN.  WTNs as of the week of August 25th will be used. 

    • 4th Priority: According to WTN, from the pool of players who submitted for entry (freshmen/newcomers included).  WTNs as of the week of August 25th will be used. 

• 3 Wild Cards

  • • 2 Host Institution Wild Cards

    • 1 ITA Wild Card

Men's & WOMEN's DOUBLES

Main Draw Doubles (32 teams) 

• 21 At-Large

  • • 1st Priority: Highest ranked teams in each conference from ITA Preseason National Rankings (top 60 only)

    • 2nd Priority: Highest ranked teams according to ITA Preseason National Rankings (top 90 only)

    • 3rd Priority: Once the two methods listed above have been exhausted, selections will be made according to combined doubles WTN.  WTNs as of the week of August 25th will be used.

• 1 Automatic Qualifier- ITA National Summer Championships Champion (if returning intact team)

• 8 Qualifiers

• 2 Wild Cards

  • • 1 Host Institution Wild Card

    • 1 ITA Wild Card

    • 2nd Priority: Highest ranked teams according to ITA Preseason National Rankings (top 90 only)

• 1 Automatic Qualifier- ITA National Summer Championships Finalist (if returning intact team)

    • 3rd Priority: According to combined doubles WTN.  WTNs as of the week of August 25th will be used.

• The alternate list will be populated based on the selection criteria for that draw.
