African Lion

African lions live in sub - Saharan Africa and can grow to be 9 - 10 feet. They can weigh between 330 - 550 pounds (150 to 250 kilograms). Males usually reach the higher end of that range. African lions are now extinct in 26 African countries and have vanished from over 95 percent of their historic range. They are Vulnerable on the IUCN red list and the population is about 20,000 in total.
African Elephant

African elephants live in rainforests of central and western Africa and savannahs of sub-saharan Africa. An African elephant can grow between 8.2 to 13 feet and weigh between 5,000 and 14,000 pounds. It is endangered on the IUCN red list and there are about 415,000 left in the world. They are poached for their big ivory tusks that can grow to 6 feet long.
Pangolin

Pangolins live in woodland and savannahs in east, central, southern Africa, and Southeast Asia. Some species can grow up to 60 cm and 38 kg. Pangolins are vulnerable on the IUCN red list. There are about 50,000 pangolins left in the world. Pangolins are hunted for their scales and blood that is supposably "medicine" in China. Their meat is also a delicacy in China and Veitnam.
Rothschild's Giraffe

Rothschild's Giraffe only live in protected areas in Kenya and Northern Uganda. They can get to 6 meters tall. They can weigh up to 1,200 kg. The Rothchild's Giraffe is endangered and today less than 2,500 are left.
Mountain Gorilla

Mountain Gorillas live in DRC, Uganda, and Rwanda. They can get up to 1.8 m tall. They can weigh up to 227 kg. It is endangered and there are less than 1,000 left in the world. Mountain gorillas are endangered because of poaching, disease, and habitat loss.
Chimpanzee

Chimpanzees live in tropical rainforests, grasslands, and woodlands in central and western Africa. They can get up to 5.5 feet and 130 pounds. They are endangered and only about 100,000 - 300,000 survive in the wild.
White Rhino

White Rhinos live in Kenya, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe. Botswana, Swaziland, and Zambia. They only live in Uganda in zoos and sanctuaries. They can grow to 4 meters and weigh 2,300 kg. They are Near Threatened on the IUCN red list and there are about 18,000 in the world.
Leopard

Leopards live in Sub-Sahara Africa, North and northeast Africa, Central and south-east Asia, Korean Peninsula, and the Atlas Mountains. leopards can weigh 200 pounds. They can grow to 84 inches in length excluding the tail. Leopard are vulnerable on the IUCN red list and their population is more than 700,000 in the world.
African Grey Parrot

African Grey Parrots live in rainforests in western and central Africa. They range in a band from Côte d'Ivoire(Ivory Coast) to Kenya. They are about 12.9 inches in length and weigh about 2.5 pounds. African Grey Parrots and endangered on the IUCN red list. There are about 40,000 to 100,000 left in the world.
Golden Monkey

Golden monkeys live in eastern DRC, south-western Uganda, and north-west Rwanda. Golden monkeys can grow up to 26 inches in length and have been known to weigh as much as 26 pounds. Golden monkeys are endangered. There population is estimated at around 2,500 - 3,500.
Spotted-Necked Otter

The spotted-necked is native to sub-saharan Africa. They can get to 76 cm in length. Also they can weigh up to 6.5 kg. Spotted-necked otters are near threatened on the IUCN red list. Don't know the population.
Cheetah

Cheetahs mostly live in open grasslands and shrublands in Sub-Saharan Africa but there are small populations in northern Africa and Iran. They can weigh up to 143 pounds. They can grow to 1.5 meters. Cheetahs are vulnerable on the IUCN red list. In Uganda, they can only be found in Kidepo Valley National Park. Their population is less than 8,000 in the wild.
