P1 student pharmacists are responsible for the following:
Plan the annual P1 Holiday Fundraiser
Participate in Pharmacy Fair
Assist in cleaning the Student Lounge on their respective campus (students at all levels participate)
P1 Holiday Fundraiser: The P1 Fundraiser is an annual initiative where incoming P1 College of Pharmacy students organize and conduct a fundraiser, with the proceeds donated to a charity of their choosing. The primary objective of this event is to engage students in community, and foster a spirit of philanthropy. While we expect all P1 students to actively participate and contribute their support, the leadership responsibilities for the fundraiser fall to the Class Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Secretaries of the P1 class on each campus. Should you have any inquiries or need assistance related to the fundraiser, please reach out to the Student Senate faculty/staff advisor, who serves as the primary point of contact.
(College of Pharmacy Student Senate Leadership Manual and Bylaws 2026)
Pharmacy Fair (dates listed above): Pharmacy Fair is the place for student pharmacists to interview and network with potential employers and future employers, meet student pharmacists from other campuses, and raise money. As a P1 student pharmacist, you will be required to attend Pharmacy Fair and volunteer during the fair in your state. Pharmacy Fair is held in Meridian, Idaho, and in Anchorage, Alaska. Pocatello student pharmacists are required to travel to the fair in Meridian. Please add Pharmacy Fair to your calendar now! You are also encouraged to participate in Pharmacy Fair planning; meetings are held every week in the P1 classroom, and details will be provided after classes begin.
Student Lounge Cleaning: All students are expected to keep their campus lounge tidy. Each month a different class will keep the lounge clean. Please always remember to clean up after yourself when using your student lounge. More information will come from the Student Senate.
Additional Information: You will receive additional information regarding yearly assessment exam, town hall meetings, and other fun student activities.
