Simple acts of kindness can go a long way for both the recipient and the giver, whether it be opening the door for someone or giving an unexpected compliment; all of these acts can make someone's day. Kindness is a chemical that impacts our wellbeing, it pushes our bodies to produce serotonin that provides healing and calming feelings. An increase in oxytocin also occurs and this helps lower blood pressure, improves overall heart health, increases self-esteem and optimism. Go out and practice kindness to not only build a better self but a better community.
