Staying hydrated sounds easy right? Well, when you are busy with school and work drinking water can oftentimes fall to the back burner. That's why we want to make hydration a priority this month. Dehydration causes our body to enter a state of stress, which can lead to chronic disease. In this state of stress, your body will release the stress hormone cortisol which can impact your weight, blood sugar, and cardiac functions. Let’s take this month to care for our bodies and be mindful of how much water we are drinking each day.
Optimal water intake varies by individual. Use the Mindful Hydration Calculator to get a better idea of your needs or aim for at least 64 oz per day. Track your intake with a chart or use an app like Hydro Coach for easy water tracking.
