ISU-IEG unites with other Institutes for a Joint ManCom Meeting   📃
Exhibiting its full commitment towards environmental sustainability, the Isabela State University-Institute of Environmental Governance (ISU-IEG) participated in the Joint Management Committee (ManCom) Meeting held on October 9-10, 2025 at Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte. The ManCom Members of ISU-IEG include our very own from ISU, President Boyet L. Batang and Dr. Emerson V. Barcellano, from Tanggol Kalikasan, Forester Darwin Bulusan and Prosecutor Kristine Ave, and Regional Director Agnes De Leon of DILG Region 02, government sector representative. During the meeting, only Dr. Barcellano and Prosecutor Ave were able to attend from the ManCom members, due to the equally important undertakings of the other members. Meanwhile, the IEG Coordinator of ISU-IEG, Dr. Bondee L. Peñaflor, also attended the said meeting where he presented the highlights of accomplishments per objective of the Environmental Justice Sector Reform Project - Phase 3. Notable accomplishments were provided in this report.Â

The LGU Department Heads Environmental Governance Training brought together department heads and representatives from various municipalities to strengthen their knowledge and capacity on environmental governance. The program featured lectures, workshops, solidarity messages, and field visits, covering topics such as ecological principles, climate change adaptation, solid waste management, watershed and coastal resource management, sustainable agriculture, and policy drafting. Participants also took part in learning exchanges, gaining practical insights into sustainable practices and environmental law enforcement. The training highlighted collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the vital role of local government units in environmental protection and resource conservation.Â
