MTSS Fidelity Process and Data Collection Tier 2
TIER 2: About 15% of students will not demonstrate adequate improvement at the core level of instruction (Tier 1). These students will need to be moved to Tier 2, which is for students who have deficits that are not grade-level appropriate. In Tier 2, students are expected to be able to relatively quickly meet goals in their deficit area and move to a higher level skill. It is important to create intervention groups in RtI:Stored!, as group level data will need to be monitored, similar to how you would with Tier 1. Recall that at Tier 1, we expect 80% of students to succeed with evidence-based core instruction. This is similar for our intervention groups. We expect the majority to improve based on the group intervention. If not, it could be indicative of difficulties with the intervention (e.g., lack of fidelity, inappropriate grouping based on need, etc).
Academic:
Examples of Student Response PM: (always normed grade level data; Are they moving to grade level expectations?)
Examples of Instructional PM: (below grade level and skill deficit specific; Is intervention instruction effective?)
Examples: FCRR instruction only- games alone will not suffice; iReady direct instruction lessons + iReady online , Phonics for Reading, Intervention Central, I-SS Intervention Matrix, Sonday, Corrective Reading, Reading Mastery, Trans-Math, etc.
Consider the following ELL student information when planning and implementing interventions:

Note: Complete a minimum of 3 cycles to fidelity (6 weeks+) with regular instructional progress monitoring bi-monthly and student response monthly (collect data points) before moving to Tier 3.
